Petrix (they/them) is an artist who dabbles in many genres and manners of expression. Their education has mainly been in Scandinavian traditional music and dancing, with some additions of traditional music from other cultures (e.g. the Balkans).
There are also influences from other genres in their music, coming from their previous work in pop and jazz music, which comes to show in various of their musical projects. Much of Petrix musical expression comes from experimenting with different sounds, letting lyrics and melodies speak in new ways and combinations.
Their education includes a bachelor’s degree in Folk and World Music from The Academy of Music and Drama (Gothenburg, SE), two years at the Folk music program at Skurups Folkhögskola (SE) and one year at the Folk music program at Musikhögskolan Ingesund (SE).
In addition to their music work, Petrix is also a visual artist. They have long experience with traditional art with pen and paper, and has of 2022 joined the world of tattooing as well. They started as an apprentice at Bläckbyrån WGA in Vårgårda, continuing the tattoo journey as a tattooer at Lilja Art Studio in Mölndal. Petrix is an educated certified tattooer through Hantverkslärling since 2025 and a part of Sveriges Registrerade Tatuerare. Now having finished their education, Petrix is currently a resident artist at Mareld Majorna – part of the art collective La Fabrique.
